MBA Courses, Emphases, and Certificates
CCU's MBA curriculum includes 13 online courses designed to develop effective, ethical leaders. Each course is typically taken over a five-week time period. Weekly assignments are required, but the course design generally allows participants to complete coursework at the times and places that work best for them (prior to scheduled deadlines).
MBA students must select a required emphasis in Advanced Accounting, Cyber Security, Enterprise Agility, Healthcare Administration, Leadership, or Project Management.
CCU students participate in MBA classes that blend the latest in eLearning technology with the latest business theory and practice. Students in this master's in business program attend classes online, do research using the Internet, exchange emails, and participate in online discussions. Assignments and tests are submitted online for in-seat students as well as those taking their program online.

Some of the foundational MBA courses include:
- Values Aligned Leadership. This course provides an overview of the classic historical and philosophical views of leadership and ethical theories within a framework for evaluating organizational leaders' decisions and actions. Case studies are integrated with a theoretical model for values-aligned leadership and provide practice-relevant examples for effective ethical leadership practices, overlaid with a biblical understanding of God's nature and human nature from a Christian worldview.
- Economic Analysis and Policy. This course is designed to examine the impact of macroeconomic influences. Determinants of trade balances, inflation, and employment rates, and monetary/fiscal policy in economic growth are assessed. Attention is given to descriptive and normative aspects of economic structure and growth within the context of bi-national and multi-national agreements.
- Human Resources Management. Human capital is at the core of every organization. Successful managers fully connect and commit to their people in creating value. This course will explore the critical link between human resources and organizational strategy in theory and practice by focusing on key elements of strategic human resource management.
- Legal Issues in Management. This course reviews concepts of business and employment law to include: human resource matters; the use of technology and intellectual property rights; entity formation, taxation, finance, Uniform Commercial Code, contracts, privacy, consumer rights, and trans-border issues.
- Leading in Intercultural Business Environments. This course provides the student with an overview of leading and conducting business in a variety of international business cultures including the impact of geography and cultural distance; how these differences impact markets, products, finance, and human resource management; why people around the world engage in different business practices; and the effect of the advancement of technology on international business.
MBA Graduate Certificates
Graduate students may choose to complete an MBA certificate in Healthcare Administration, Leadership, or Project Management in conjunction with their MBA degree.
Admission to the MBA Program
Admission to the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at Colorado Christian University is selective. Applicants are evaluated on the basis of previous academic performance, personal and professional accomplishments and goals, and strength of character. A strong desire to complete graduate-level work in a Christ-centered, biblically based community is important.
Application Deadlines
You can enter the MBA program at multiple points in the academic year. You should complete the admission process as early as possible so you will have adequate time to work with an advisor and qualify for financial aid.
Prerequisite Coursework
All applicants to CCU's MBA program are required to have fulfilled prerequisite courses for Accounting, Finance, and Statistics. Specific emphases may have additional prerequisites.

Admission Requirements
- Complete the graduate admission application online (including essay and transcripts).
- Provide a professional resume and employment record. It is expected that MBA candidates will have at least 5 years of professional work experience or the equivalent.
- Submit an official transcript that reflects a bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited higher education institution. For those seeking an emphasis in advanced accounting, a bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
- Have a minimum undergraduate grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants with an undergraduate grade point average between 2.0 and 2.49 will be admitted on a conditional admit (CAD) basis for the first semester. CAD students must maintain a 3.0 GPA or better in their first nine (9) credits to remain in the program.
- Complete any needed prerequisite courses. Review the MBA prerequisites prior to application submission.
- The Office of Admission reserves the right to request additional information as deemed necessary to make a selection decision.
Transfer of Courses
Students may transfer up to nine semester hours of graduate credit from an accredited college or university. The coursework must be comparable to that offered at CCU and fulfill the CCU MBA degree requirements.

MBA Program Emphases
Upon enrollment, MBA students must choose an emphasis in one of the following areas:
- Advanced Accounting — The MBA with an emphasis in Advanced Accounting is designed for MBA students who want to combine advanced business education with additional accounting training and hours beyond their undergraduate accounting degrees. Students must possess an undergraduate degree in accounting (or equivalent) to take this emphasis.
- Cyber Security — The MBA with an emphasis in Cyber Security is designed to provide students with soft skills in theoretical aspects within the cyber world. With this MBA curriculum, students will cover the concepts of cyber security based on foundations of introduction to business and information security principles. Students complete the foundation course in Cyber Security and can choose to further study: ethics and design of a cyber-based business model, the principles and mindset of cyber criminology, and creating security policy and governance.
- Economics — The MBA with an emphasis in Economics integrates economics theory and concepts with the practical knowledge, skills, and processes necessary to attain organizational objectives related to strategic management and economic development in the domestic and international arenas. The Economics emphasis is built on traditional neoclassical (market-based) theories and quantitative methods.
- Enterprise Agility — The MBA with an emphasis in Enterprise Agility integrates agility concepts with the knowledge, skills, and processes necessary to attain organizational objectives related to strategic management, project-based teamwork, risk reduction, and risk management. Incorporating agile concepts provides corporations with the ability to more quickly respond to changes in a competitive environment.
- Healthcare Administration — The MBA with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration focuses on practical application and unique requirements of the healthcare field, preparing leaders to be effective across a multiple of industry responsibility areas.
- Leadership — The MBA with an emphasis in Leadership provides a more in-depth study of leadership theory from a christian perspective and biblical view. Students also develop knowledge and skills in financial responsibility and control, markets and promotional strategy, problem-solving and decision-making, human resource management, international business, and research skills.
- Project Management — The MBA with an emphasis in Project Management builds your overall management skills and gives you the knowledge and processes necessary to attain organizational objectives related to strategic management, project-based teamwork, risk reduction, and risk management.
