CCU Ranks in Top 30 for “Best Four-year Colleges for Adult Learners”
Colorado Christian University is proud to announce that it is ranked in the top 30 colleges for Washington Monthly's first-ever list for the Best Four-year Colleges for Adult Learners.
With an array of undergraduate, licensure, and graduate programs designed specifically for adult learners, CCU's College of Adult and Graduate Studies is being recognized for its education, convenience for adult students, and high employment rates post-graduation.
What an honor it is to be recognized and ranked in Washington Monthly, says vice president of Student Success, Roger Chandler. CCU's College of Adult and Graduate Studies is committed to equipping our adult learners to impact the world by guiding, assisting, and advocating for them in a Christ-centered atmosphere, focusing on persistence, retention, program completion, and academic excellence.
Based out of Washington, D.C., Washington Monthly is a nonprofit publication that reports on politics and government. For over 10 years, it has released a list of the top schools around the U.S. Rather than ranking schools by wealth, exclusivity and prestige, Washington Monthly employs more in-depth research to evaluate the colleges.
We rate schools based on their contribution to the public good in three broad categories: Social Mobility (recruiting and graduating low-income students), Research (producing cutting-edge scholarship and PhDs), and Service (encouraging students to give something back to their country) 2016 Washington Monthly used with permission.
Other factors Washington Monthly takes into consideration are: how simple it is to transfer and enroll; the flexibility of programs offered; the services available; the percentage of adult learners (over 25 years of age); income after 10 years of enrolling; loan repayment rates five years after entering repayment; and cost of attendance for in-state students.
Colorado Christian University prides itself on simplifying the process for adults to attend college, while also accommodating their family and work lives. Courses are available at numerous locations in Colorado, as well as online.
It is a blessing to be a champion for our adult students, watching them grow not only in their academic lives but more importantly, in their spiritual lives, says Chandler. We do this by integrating faith in all our curriculum, offering a variety of flexible educational opportunities which include: bachelor's degree programs that open new doors for careers; associate degree programs to help build strong foundations; and certificate programs to provide that extra edge.
CCU's College of Adult and Graduate Studies offers over 50 adult undergraduate and graduate programs including nursing, health care, business, communication, psychology, education, criminal justice, technology, leadership, and biblical studies.
