CCU Awarded Grant to Provide New Scholarships for Non-Traditional Students

Colorado Christian University (CCU) announced today that it will receive a $40,000 grant from the Daniels Fund to provide Boundless Opportunity Scholarships to adult undergraduate students in CCU's College of Adult and Graduate Studies. The generous grant from the Daniels Fund will be disbursed $20,000 for the 2018/2019 academic year and $20,000 for the 2019/2020 academic year.

The Boundless Opportunity Scholarship is designed to benefit motivated non-traditional students who recognize the power of education to create a better life for themselves and their families.

"We are so excited for our adult students," said Roger Chandler, vice president of Student Success in CCU's College of Adult and Graduate Studies. "We are humbled to be part of their educational journey as they are out there 'doing life.' They have full-time jobs, are raising families, paying their mortgages and bills, and on top of all that, they are choosing to earn their degree at CCU. The Boundless Opportunity Scholarship will help our students by lifting some of the financial pressure off their shoulders."

These need-based scholarships for undergraduate students in CCU's College of Adult and Graduate Studies are available to specific student populations including adult learners returning to college, GED recipients, former foster care youth, former juvenile justice youth, and individuals pursuing an Early Childhood Education (ECE) degree.

"Boundless Opportunity Scholarships benefit non-traditional students who desire to create a better life by investing in their education," said Linda Childears, president and CEO of the Daniels Fund. "As our founder Bill Daniels once said, 'America remains the greatest nation on Earth, where boundless opportunities still exist for each and every one of us.'"

The Daniels Fund, established by cable television pioneer Bill Daniels, is a private charitable foundation dedicated to making life better for the people of Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming through its grants program, scholarship program, and ethics initiative.
