Annie Get Your Gun

Annie Get Your Gun, the charming tall tale of the romance between sharp shooters Frank Butler and Annie Oakley, in the days of the Wild West, received a Tony Award-winning revival production on Broadway in 1999. This fresh new treatment of the story continues to contain many favorite Irving Berlin tunes – “There’s No Business Like Show Business”, “Doin’ What Comes Natur’lly”, “They Say That Falling In Love is Wonderful”, and, of course, the show-stopping “Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better!”
Fowler's Vision: A Centennial Celebration Play

Inspired by the book, Colorado Christian University: First 100 Years by Dr. Janet M. Black (CCU's School of Humanities and Sciences), and by interviews with several alumni, Fowler's Vision is a unique celebration of CCU's 100 year journey from 1914-2014.
The play was written by CCU alumnus Paul Romig-Leavitt '02 and CCU Theatre Director Sanne McCarthy to honor and thank God and share some memories from our journey. The result is a musical, sometimes whimsical, sometimes profoundly thought provoking play – food for both laughter and contemplation.

Meet Me in St. Louis
Spring 2014
Based on "The Kensington Stories" by Sally Benson and the MGM motion picture "Meet Me in St. Louis". This charming musical tale follows the Smith family of St. Louis, Missouri in the exciting year preceding the World’s Fair of 1904. The costumes and romances are delightfully representative of a younger America, and song favorites include “Skip to My Lou” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”, as well as—of course!—the beloved title song.
Voices Beyond the Veil: the Story of God, Humanly Speaking

A series of character sketches from the Bible spans Genesis through Revelation. An unusual contemporary setting allows us to hear the voices of the Judeo-Christian heritage with fresh insight that lifts our spirits and encourages our faith. Fools

This summer’s theatre production is sheer fun! Neil Simon’s Fools concerns a mythical Ukrainian village around the turn of the century (not this one; that other one—the 1890s). This village finds itself cursed with stupidity! The results are a delightful, laugh out loud romp!
The Music Man

This popular favorite tells the story of traveling salesman Harold Hill, who sells a Boys’ Band to River City, Iowa with hilarious consequences. This is the only one of our productions with a romantic love story—and songs! Remember “76 Trombones”? Remember the barbershop quartet and “Lida Rose”? Remember “’Til There was You”?
The Jesus Trip

This is our second production of The Jesus Trip. We produced its world premiere in the mid-90s and had such a good time we decided to bring it back. It concerns a present day young man who wants to live like Jesus. It is full of warmth and laughter, with an intriguing assortment of characters and some worthwhile food for thought. The playwright, David Muschell, who teaches at a university in Georgia, has become a true friend of CCU’s theatre program and is planning to join us during the run.
The Maybe Pile

This is a coming of age story about a teenage girl. We fell in love with it because the family loves each other. One finds that, of course, in real life. But it is hardly ubiquitous on the contemporary American stage. In addition, the play is lovely, lyrical, whimsical and charming. To top it all off, it is the world premiere of a play written by a 2004 graduate of CCU. She graduated with a theatre major and a creative writing minor, and later acquired a graduate degree in creative writing with a playwriting emphasis. Come and be excited with us!
My Fair Lady

Based on George Bernard Shaw’s lively satire, Pygmalion, My Fair Lady is filled with well-loved songs such as “I Could Have Danced All Night”, “I’ve Grown Accustomed to Her Face” and Doolittle’s irrepressible “Get Me to the Church on Time”. My Fair Lady has been delighting audiences on both sides of the Atlantic for over 50 years. You’ll love it too—you probably already do!
Pygmalion

George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion is perched lightly on a Greek myth in which a sculptor falls in love with his creation. Shaw, however, emphatically insists that Higgins does NOT fall in love with Eliza. Colorado Christian University’s production uses Nicholas Grene’s definitive text of the play which, according to Grene, “simultaneously satirizes the idea of human difference exemplified in the constructions of class, and celebrates the irrepressible individualism of the world’s vital geniuses”. It’s not every play that invites you consider social realities while making you fall out of your chair laughing.

The story will be based on the life of Gospel writer, Matthew. We are planning on an exciting look at the Good News—a casual and engaging event to which you will want to bring friends and neighbors.

We all had the time of our lives preparing this very special treat for your family. We returned to Miners Alley Playhouse in Golden for our spring production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s beloved favorite, Cinderella.
