HLC Accreditation
Colorado Christian University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), one of six institutional accrediting associations in the United States. HLC was founded in 1895 as a membership organization for educational institutions. It is committed to developing and maintaining high standards of excellence.
The Higher Learning Commission accredits, and thereby grants membership to, educational institutions in the nineteen-state North Central region: Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
The Higher Learning Commission is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

Special Accreditations and Endorsements
- Counseling — CCU's Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program is nationally accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
- Education — CCU's teacher preparation licensure programs are approved by the Colorado Department of Education, Colorado Department of Higher Education and Colorado State Board of Education; and are nationally endorsed by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).
- Music — Colorado Christian University is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM).
- Nursing — The baccalaureate degree program in nursing, the master's degree program in nursing, and the Doctor of Nursing Practice program at Colorado Christian University are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
