Larry J. Crabb Center for University Counseling
The on campus Counseling Center engages in short-term therapy to support students with their mental health. We offer individual and group therapy from a Christian worldview.
Our Center is staffed by two full-time, licensed mental health professionals, who are assisted by MA-level interns to provide services to the traditional undergraduate student population. The Counseling Center is closed for campus breaks and over the summer. Students who need weekly therapy without disruption are referred off campus. Clients who need specialty care or whose concerns fall outside of our scope of service are referred off campus as well.
Appointments are necessary and are requested through the CCU Connect system. Students can also walk into the Counseling Center to access the request form via a QR code.
When required to do so by law, such as in the case of danger to self or others and abuse reporting, Counseling Center staff will uphold ethical requirements to promote client and campus safety and notify the appropriate individuals. When needed, Student Life professionals will communicate with parents and designated CCU faculty and administrators concerning medical or psychological treatment.
