Adult students can use their life learning experiences to minimize their cost and time to degree completion.
Earn Credit for Your Life Learning Experiences
CCU's College of Adult and Graduate Studies (CAGS) encourages adult learners to apply their extensive life learning to earn an undergraduate degree. Prior learning credit is that opportunity for degree-seeking adults interested in continuing education to earn college-level credit for what they know.
The cost of prior learning credit options is a fraction of the cost of tuition. Using prior learning can be very rewarding for adults as they experience the value that their current skills, competencies, and achievements contribute toward their degree.
CAGS students may earn prior learning credit for all electives, various general education requirements, and some major core requirements (depending on degree program).
Examples of Prior Learning Credit include:
- ACE Credit (American Council on Education)
- CLEP Exams (College Level Examination Program)
- DSST Exams (Formerly DANTES)
- Credit by Portfolio
- Credit by Approved Challenge Exam
