Applied Psychology Bachelor's Degree
The Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology degree program at Colorado Christian University will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the foundational theories of human nature, explored from a Christian worldview. It will challenge you to integrate faith and the study of human behavior in a scholarly environment that fosters creative problem-solving and critical thinking.
CCU's bachelor's degree in Applied Psychology is available in a non-emphasis format, as well as with three emphases that may lead to both an undergraduate degree and a graduate degree. Optional emphases for the bachelor's in Psychology include Biblical Studies, Clinical Counseling, and Criminal Justice.

Social, developmental, environmental, and abnormal psychology; psychological research methods and theories; interpersonal relationships; cross-cultural competence; and integration of psychology and theology
Once you become a graduate of the Applied Psychology program, you will be equipped for entry-level positions and career opportunities in business, education, the mental-health field, ministry, health care, governmental agencies, social services, human services, and other areas where a psychology background is either required or enhances the individual's qualifications for employment.

For adult students interested in beginning or completing their undergraduate degree, the College of Adult and Graduate Studies at Colorado Christian University offers a variety of flexible educational opportunities. Admission Requirements
- Complete the adult undergraduate application online.
- Provide your enrollment counselor with a copy of your state-issued driver's license or a state-issued identification card. This ID must include your photo and be within the expiration date. If you are an international student, visit our international student admissions page for more information or contact your enrollment counselor with any questions.
- Submit proof of your high school graduation or completion. This must be your high school transcript with graduation date, a copy of your high school diploma, or a copy of your high school equivalent certificate (GED).

Admission to a licensure program in the College of Adult and Graduate Studies does not guarantee licensure at the completion of the program. It is the responsibility of the student to ensure they meet all licensure requirements, which often includes a background check.
For students who may wish to seek licensure, CCU has provided professional licensure disclosures to aid students in determining specific state requirements for professional licensure. Each state makes the final determination if an individual is eligible to sit for licensure based on the rules and regulations of that state at the time a student applies for licensure.
Admission Timelines
Colorado Christian University's College of Adult and Graduate Studies offers accelerated degree completion programs for adult students. Courses are typically offered in five-week blocks. You can enter CCU at the beginning of any adult studies course. This gives you the flexibility to start at virtually any time during the year. CCU operates on a standard semester time frame. Semesters include spring, summer, and fall.

For students interested in earning both their bachelor’s degree in Psychology and their master’s degree in a psychology-related field, CCU offers three rigorous and accelerated academic paths through our dual degree program
Dual degree students complete their B.A. in Psychology with an emphasis in Biblical Studies, Clinical Counseling, or Criminal Justice while completing some of the graduate school coursework in a corresponding CCU master's degree, including the M.A. in Biblical Studies, M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, or M.S. in Criminal Justice. Optional Emphases
Emphasis in Biblical Studies
The B.S. in Applied Psychology with an emphasis in Biblical Studies includes human development, personal and social interactions, and behavioral patterns disorders and, as well as four graduate-level courses (12 credits) in biblical studies. The biblical studies graduate courses count toward the Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology degree requirements and may be applied toward CCU's Master of Arts in Biblical Studies, upon application and acceptance. After successful completion of the B.S. in Psychology with an emphasis in Biblical Studies, only 27 credit hours of the required 39 credit hours remain to complete a master's degree in Biblical Studies.
Emphasis in Clinical Counseling
The B.S. in Applied Psychology with an emphasis in Clinical Counseling includes human development, personal and social interactions, and behavioral analysis and patterns, as well as five graduate-level courses specific to clinical counseling. The clinical counseling courses count toward the Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology degree requirements and may be applied toward CCU's Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, upon application and acceptance to the master's in Counseling program. With successful completion of the B.S. in Applied Psychology with an emphasis in Clinical Counseling, only 48 credit hours of the 60 required credit hours remain to complete a master's degree in Counseling.
Emphasis in Criminal Justice
The B.S. in Applied Psychology with an emphasis in Criminal Justice explores human development, personal and social interactions, and behavioral sciences, as well as four graduate-level courses (12 credits) in Criminal Justice. A concentrated application of psychological principles and reflection on real life experiences of self and others helps psychology students grow personally and spiritually. The criminal justice graduate credit hours count toward the Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology degree requirements and may be applied toward CCU's Master of Science in Criminal Justice, upon application and acceptance. With successful completion of the B.S. in Applied Psychology with an emphasis in Criminal Justice, only 24 graduate credit hours of 36 credit hours remain to complete a master's degree in Criminal Justice.
