The program is designed to provide professional development for current and aspiring educators and school professionals who are seeking skills in teaching English language learners both in the United States and around the world.

No. This program does not require current employment in education. However, there is a 60-hour fieldwork component which will involve supervised teaching. Volunteering at a local school or education program is an option for those not currently employed.

In contrast to a traditional master's thesis where students present the results of original research, the capstone is a combination of theory and practice. This final course assimilates and integrates the student’s readings, discussions and experiences in the Master of Education program. Students complete an action research project applied to their roles as teachers, trainers, and/or administrators .

Yes. All of Colorado Christian University's programs are accredited through the Higher Learning Commission. Graduates meet the requirements for certification by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). Visit our Accreditations page for details.

Read about specific admission requirements for the M.Ed. TESOL program. A bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited institution is required. There are no specific prerequisites for the program.

The GRE is not required for admission to this program.

The M.Ed. in TESOL program is a cohort program. Cohorts can begin fall, spring, or summer semester (August, January, May) depending on enrollment.

M.Ed. in TESOL courses are offered online; in an asynchronous format. Each course is taken in a five-week block except for the ten-week supervised fieldwork experience course.
