Body Stewardship: Examining Popular Cultural Views and Myths of Body Wellness and Nonsensical Practices

There is a lot of “common or recipe knowledge” out there that is….well, wrong. With his extensive background in kinesiology and exercise science, Dr. Bryan Crutcher will help counteract popular cultural views and myths with sound science and biblical truth, leading us toward better wellness and performance by providing excellent guidance as we end the academic year.

About Dr. Bryan Crutcher

Dr. Bryan Crutcher has an extensive background in the field of kinesiology and exercise science, with his teaching and applied interests being in exercise physiology, human sport performance, strength and conditioning, and sport psychology. Additionally, he is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a certified exercise physiologist (ACSM-EP) through the American College of Sports Medicine.

Crutcher has gained experience in a variety of educational and athletic settings. He has taught classes, developed course and lab curriculum, published research in peer-reviewed journals, trained collegiate student-athletes, led undergraduate student research, and provided mentorship to undergraduate students on graduate school and career choices.

Currently, Crutcher is involved with research on sleep difficulties in collegiate student-athletes. He also holds the position of assistant strength and conditioning coach with CCU athletics. He is very passionate about providing a Christian faith perspective in the classroom and athletic environments.
