CCU Introduces School of Business and Leadership
Colorado Christian University has renamed the School of Business, Communication, and Applied Ministry to the School of Business and Leadership. Throughout the past few years, CCU has been establishing a strong foundation for leadership education. There have been several milestones on this journey. The Leadership Program for undergraduate students was introduced eight years ago by Jim McCormick, vice president for student development. Seven years ago, Dr. Sid Buzzell, Bible professor, edited the "Leadership Bible." CCU President, Dr. Larry Donnithorne, published "The Westpoint Way of Leadership," six years ago. And in 2002 CCU launched the Master of Business Administration Program, which focuses on ethical and moral principles in business leadership.
Ron Rex, executive in residence at CCU, will lead the effort to further develop leadership programs and opportunities for students at CCU. "Many schools are talking about leadership issues, but at CCU we are making a deliberate shift in our curriculum to better prepare both undergraduate and graduate students to become leaders," said Rex.
New leadership program initiatives are already underway. CCU will be enhancing existing programs with leadership curriculum and developing new master's level programs in different areas of leadership.
