New CCU Graduate Certificate Programs to Support Online and Corporate Education
Colorado Christian University (CCU) will introduce three new graduate-level certificates this school year in conjunction with its Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction (MACI) program. Designed with the working professional in mind, these certificate programs offer participants the option to earn either a stand-alone credential or incorporate certification toward a master's degree. The new programs will launch with the spring academic semester in January of 2007.
Among the new offerings are several programs intended to address the increasingly Web-based educational culture. The Online Teaching and Learning Certificate examines new technologies and strategy for delivering content in online, visual formats. The Online Course Developer Certificate explores technology, curriculum design, and the psychology of Web-based learning in regard to academic and corporate online learning.
This spring, CCU will also introduce the Corporate Education Certificate, directed toward professionals who want to develop alternative teaching and seminar practices for engaging audiences in complex business environments.
"What makes the new certificate programs so innovative is the emphasis each course places on visual and communication literacy in the online learning environment," stated Director of MACI Bruce Pelon. "We are helping students move from traditional text-driven online classes to more visual and relational online learning by integrating the latest graphic software programs and alternative teaching methodologies."
CCU strives to produce effective global educators and leaders who share strong moral foundations and are able to address diverse learner needs. The MACI program and related certificate programs can enable students to move forward in careers such as teaching, administration, organizational training, and curriculum development.
"MACI is popular with students because it is so relevant to today's educational environment," commented CCU President Bill Armstrong. "The addition of these new certificate programs will further strengthen this important degree program."
