CCU Nominated by Family Tree for 2011 Community Award
The Family Tree announced that Colorado Christian University has been nominated for the 2011 Community Award that will be presented during its 18th annual Celebration of Achievement Fundraising Dinner on Thursday, May 5, 2011. CCU joins Compass Construction, Every Child Counts, Brad and Debra Geissler, and Don Hanlon as nominees for the special award.
The Celebration of Achievement Fundraising Dinner will recognize the accomplishments of four Family Tree clients who have reached self-sufficiency, and the community support that helped contribute toward those accomplishments. The featured speaker will be Emmy Award-winning writer and producer, Scott Halford, and the emcee will be Jennifer Zeppelin, CBS4 News meteorologist. The dinner will take place at 6:00 p.m. at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities in Arvada, Colorado. Visit the Family Tree website for details and ticket information.
Since 1976, Family Tree has provided a continuum of services and shelter to families and youth of metro Denver. The mission of Family Tree is to help people overcome child abuse, domestic violence and homelessness to become safe, strong and self-reliant.
