CCU Valedictorian Foster Raises the Bar
For the first time in Colorado Christian's history a student-athlete has been named valedictorian of their graduating class. Gillian Foster, who spent four years as a key member of the women's basketball team, was the valedictorian of the class of 2014.
During her time at CCU, Foster had a tremendous impact on and off the court, garnering recognition for both her academic and athletic achievements.
A triple major in political science, business, and global studies while earning a remarkable 4.0 GPA, Foster proved to embody the expression "student-athlete". She was a three-time RMAC All-Academic selection and, prior to the 2013-2014 season, was named the RMAC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year.
After an outstanding four-year career for the Cougars, Foster ranks second all-time in school history for blocked shots, and sixth all-time in total rebounds. In 2012 she helped lead CCU to its first NCCAA National Championship.
Balancing the rigors of athletics and studies, Foster managed brilliantly, as she was chosen the outstanding senior for the entire School of Business and Leadership and outstanding senior in political science. Foster's future aspirations include earning a Ph.D. and teaching at the university level with a focus on international development.
