Colorado Christian University Meets $1 Million Match Challenge
Colorado Christian University met a special goal at the end of 2013: a $1 million match that doubled every gift to the Campus Development Fund since September of 2013. The match gift for $1 million was promised to CCU by an anonymous friend of the University this past fall provided the school could raise the same amount from various donors by December 31, 2013.
We are thankful first to God, and also to our donors for making this happen, said Paul Eldridge, vice president of Development and Alumni Relations. It's thrilling to be a part of this campus redevelopment project and to see what the CCU community and friends can do once they're mobilized.
This incredible gift moves us closer to the completion of Phase 1 of the Faith|Family|Freedom Campaign CCU's plan to completely redevelop our current Lakewood campus. With a strong December, the amount needed to finish Phase 1 of the complete campus redevelopment project, which includes a new 43,000 square foot academic building and infrastructure improvements around campus, is now less than $1.9 million of the overall Phase 1 goal of $18.8 million in philanthropy.
This is a wonderful outcome for which we are truly grateful, declared President Bill Armstrong. And this was a very, very important milestone to get us close to finishing Phase 1. Thanks to all who gave freely and joyfully. Their gifts will impact lives beyond what they know.
CCU's new academic building is currently under construction, replacing multiple buildings originally meant for temporary use. Work on the building is slated to be finished in May, and road and parking improvements will take place throughout the summer of 2014. This will quite literally pave the way for Phase 2 of the redevelopment campaign, the details of which will be announced later this spring.
The entire Faith|Family|Freedom Campaign is expected to cost in excess of $120 million and dramatically update Colorado Christian University's campus to meet the needs of the 21st century university student.
