CCU Welcomes New Dean of Social Sciences and Humanities
Colorado Christian University is pleased to announce that Dr. Debra Hudson has accepted the position of dean of Social Sciences and Humanities in the College of Adult and Graduate Studies. The longtime professor of adult students boasts an exceptional background in adult learning and effective teaching strategies.
"Colorado Christian University will benefit greatly from Dr. Hudson's expertise and experience in guiding education for adult students," said Vice President of Academic Administration Dr. Sarah Scherling. "Dr. Hudson understands the unique needs of adult learners and has extensive knowledge and experience in developing effective education programs in which adult students thrive."
Dr. Hudson's broad experience with adult learners includes serving in CCU's College of Adult and Graduate Studies as regional director of the Grand Junction center and later at the Colorado Springs center. Hudson also worked as assistant dean of academic services for the College of Adult and Graduate Studies. Most recently, she was employed as vice president of Academic Affairs and Non-traditional Program Operations at Mid-Continent University in Mayfield, Kentucky.
"It is great to welcome Dr. Hudson as she returns to CCU," added President Bill Armstrong. "She is an old friend and a very skillful academic administrator. We are delighted that she will be leading this important program for the university."
Hudson earned her bachelor's and master's degrees at Colorado Christian University before going on to earn her Ph.D. in education and human resource studies with an emphasis in educational leadership from Colorado State University. She has also served as president of the Christian Adult Higher Education Association.
