Vail Resorts Coming to Colorado Christian University
Colorado Christian University's Employment Management Services (EMS) has formed an agreement with Vail Resorts to help staff their Bicycle Village locations throughout the Front Range. Vail Resorts will be coming to CCU's Lakewood campus to interview prospective employees on Friday, January 30.
"This is a great opportunity for students," said Ron Rex, head of EMS. "Obviously, Vail Resorts carries a prestige not only throughout Colorado but around the world. It's known for its excellence and customer service. They are offering solid jobs that would be great in building a resume."
Vail Resorts is looking for students with bicycling knowledge, experience, and passion to staff its shops. Staff members receive an Epic Pass, which gives unlimited lift ticket access to Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, and Arapahoe Basin. In addition, employees get unlimited access to other areas owned by Vail Resorts, including skiing in Utah and California.
In addition, employees receive discounts at retail stores at Vail Resorts and throughout the Front Range.
"Beyond the benefits, students will get training in how to perform excellent customer service," noted Rex. "They'll be working alongside a team of like-minded people with similar interests. These stores will offer a dynamic environment where students can gain vocational skills and have fun doing it."
Vail Resorts offers a variety of benefits, including medical, 401(k), and professional development for students who seek a career. Additionally, employment at Vail Resorts exposes students to other brands they sell, such as The North Face and Patagonia.
The agreement with Vail Resorts comes as EMS has also announced a partnership with Samaritan's Purse, as staff continues to find ways to meet student job needs and desires.
"We have other plans in the works," added Rex. "We're nearing five years of existence and have placed hundreds of students in paying jobs, but in some ways we're just getting started. We hope to offer a widening array of options for students, so everyone from a freshman with little work experience to a senior who is looking to get set up with a Fortune 500 company - or a major nonprofit - has an opportunity here. We're helping offset college costs and we're positioning students for unparalleled success the moment they graduate. I don't know of any other college as proactive with jobs as we are."
For now, students have the opportunity to interview with one of the foremost employers in Colorado. For more on the interviews, please contact Sharon Kitzmiller at skitzmiller@ccu.edu or 303.963.3153.
