CCU Announces Two New Graduate Education Programs
There has never been a more important time to be a great educator. Finn Laursen, the Executive Director of the Christian Educators Association International (CEAI), sees the nation's public schools as the largest single mission field in America. This year, Colorado Christian University's College of Adult and Graduate Studies (CAGS) responded to this need by launching its two new Master of Education (M.Ed.) programs.
If you are going to be a true educator, you must be prepared to make a real contribution to your students, your school community, and in a Christian worldview, to the Kingdom, notes Dr. Wendy Wendover, dean of Curriculum and Instruction Education at Colorado Christian University.
CCU's online Master of Education programs prepare students for teaching and leadership roles in administrative offices or agencies, as well as Christian, public, and private schools. Like CEAI, these programs prepare classroom educators and educational leaders to be exemplary in their work while showing Christian character and applying a biblical worldview in whatever educational role they are called to.
Laursen, of CEAI, believes millions of American children may no longer be learning right from wrong, and that Christian educators can be prepared to repair that frayed moral fabric while still honoring the Constitution's prohibition on the government establishing or promoting any particular religion. Stepping into the mission field of the school is truly the vision set out by CCU's education programs.
The M.Ed. in Educational Leadership provides either a non-licensure path or a path for a Colorado principal licensure. The M.Ed. in Special Education also provides both a licensure and a non-licensure path. The non-licensure path is for teachers already licensed and seeking special education preparation.
Graduates from CCU's CAGS online education programs meet Colorado requirements and must submit a licensure request to their individual state department of education. CCU education program graduates may be required to meet additional state mandates to receive a teacher or administrator certification, licensure, or endorsement in a state outside of Colorado.
