CCU Partners with Buckley Air Force Base
CCU will provide on-site courses at Buckley Air Force Base beginning in January 2016.
Colorado Christian University has formed an agreement with Buckley Air Force Base to provide on-site courses at the Aurora, Colorado facility. The courses are opening this January, and they will provide service members with increased access to education on base while going toward a Community College of Air Force degree.
We were thrilled to be selected to provide higher education to the service members at Buckley Air Force Base, says Roger Chandler, Student Success vice president. The courses we're offering will provide flexibility with online courses, but also human interaction, because a lot of students desire that.
CCU was chosen for a variety of factors, including course length, flexibility, and cost. The University's cohort-style learning means that students focus on one course at a time rather than an array of courses at once and they go through their degree program with the same cohort.
This allows for students to get to know each other and support each other as they juggle careers and school, explains Chandler. It allows for a more supportive learning environment.
Airmen and women will also have increased support as the Air Force covers the entire cost of each course. Service members will have support ranging from enrollment, to attending class on-base, to the covered tuition.
We hope that CCU is able to help service members complete not only their Community College of Air Force degrees, says Chandler, but that they'll be able to reach other educational goals, for their own fulfillment and their careers. The familiarity with CCU will make it even easier for men and women to gain their bachelor's and master's degrees, which are increasingly necessary in today's work force.
CCU's College of Adult and Graduate Studies offers military financial aid and reduced tuition rates for active military. The school also works with base education services personnel on bases throughout Colorado and Wyoming.
We have over 50 academic programs and we're adept at working with military service members from managing the financial aid to even solving their educational issues if they are deployed, notes Chandler. We're honored to work with the armed forces, and to support our troops in this way.
