Brian Wall Named Athletic Director at Colorado Christian University
Colorado Christian University has named Faith Christian Academy's (FCA) superintendent Brian Wall as its athletic director beginning March 20, 2017. After being a part of the Arvada-based Christian high school since 1986, Wall will leave his position as superintendent and join the growing CCU athletic department which currently serves over 300 NCAA Division II college athletes.
"After a national search of qualified candidates, we believe that Brian has the depth of administrative experience," commented CCU vice president of Student Life, Jim McCormick. "His coaching skills, personal integrity, and solid faith are what we need to lead our program going forward. He will be a tremendous fit for our athletes and our program."
Wall is coming into an athletic program that is competing in one of the largest and most competitive conferences in the nation - the NCAA Division II Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC). CCU is the smallest NCAA Division II college competing nationwide and the only evangelical Christian school among the 16 RMAC member schools. With over 300 athletes in 15 sports at CCU, the athletic department has grown by almost 100 additional athletes in just five years.
Wall earned his master's degree in Educational Administration from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, and did his undergraduate work in education at the University of Colorado. From his 31-year tenure at FCA, Wall brings a wealth of knowledge in the Colorado high school athletic arena as both a coach and administrator. In his 13 years of guiding the FCA women's basketball program, Wall amassed a 273-56 record, leading his teams to eight elite playoff appearances, five final four standings, being runners-up at state, and winning a state championship.
Because of his success at the Colorado high school class 3A level, Wall was inducted into the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) Metropolitan League Hall of Fame. His seven-year stretch as the athletic director at FCA - overseeing 35 coaches in 11 sports - began the establishment of a Colorado high school athletic dynasty. Since 1986, FCA has seen 33 state championships, the induction of seven Metro League Hall of Fame coaches, 120 NCAA Division I and II collegiate athletes, and seven professional athletes.
"After 31 amazing years serving at Faith Christian Academy, I am extremely excited to begin a new season of ministry at Colorado Christian University," stated Brian Wall. "I look forward to supporting excellent CCU Coaches, staff members, and athletes as we join together to dream big, pray hard, and pursue excellence, that God may receive the glory."
