CCU CFO Dan Cohrs Makes List of Top Executives
Daniel L. Cohrs, Colorado Christian University's vice president of Business Affairs and chief financial officer, has been named one of the Denver-metro area's top executives by the Denver Business Journal. The honor comes as the University continues to see record enrollment and growth.
Cohrs joins 25 top executives whose organizations have a significant presence in the Denver area. The Denver Business Journal 's annual C-Suite Awards are chosen based on individual and organizational achievement, contributions to management and innovation, and community involvement, according to the publication's website. Honorees were chosen from a list of reader nominees.
"I am honored to be included with such great company in this award, and it is gratifying to see the Denver Business Journal recognize Colorado Christian University as a major economic force in the region," Cohrs said. "The award is a recognition of hard work and willingness to follow God's plan as we continue to grow CCU as the preeminent Christian university in Colorado and beyond."
Cohrs will be honored along with his fellow award recipients September 25 at the Seawell Ballroom at the Denver Performing Arts Center.
During Cohrs' time at CCU, the University has seen numerous consecutive years of enrollment growth in both the College of Undergraduate Studies and the College of Adult and Graduate Studies, as well as construction of several new on-campus facilities.
Cohrs joined CCU in January 2010, overseeing all of the University's financial and business operations. Prior to coming to CCU, Cohrs was as an officer and CFO of several public, private, and nonprofit organizations. He has also served as a Denver partner in a national CPA firm specializing in real estate, banking, governmental, and nonprofit auditing. Cohrs holds an active CPA certificate in Colorado and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Oklahoma Christian University. He and his wife, Tomasita, have four children and nine grandchildren.
