CCU Community Counseling Center Opens in Colorado Springs
The Community Counseling Center at Colorado Christian University is now offering affordable clinical mental health counseling services to the greater Colorado Springs community. The center, located at 1125 Kelly Johnson Boulevard in Colorado Springs, offers evidence-based professional counseling to individuals and families struggling with an array of mental health problems or looking for a safe place to talk through any life issue or problem.
The center utilizes graduate-level counselors, under the supervision of Colorado-licensed mental health professionals, to treat many mental health issues including trauma, veteran-specific issues, adolescent behavioral and emotional issues, marriage and family related issues, substance abuse, mood disorders, personality disorders, and other general mental health issues.
“The Community Counseling Center fills a much-need service to traditionally underserved individuals and families in the greater Colorado Springs area,” said Dr. Trent Langhofer, the center’s clinical director. “By utilizing graduate student counselors under the direct supervision of state-licensed professional counselors the center is able to provide the highest level of evidence-based professional counseling services at an affordable rate. The model has the additional benefit of providing graduate-level counselors with the necessary clinical experience to receive licensure and serve the community independently.”
The Community Counseling Center is a cash-pay practice and fees are due at the time services are rendered. It offers affordable payment options including discounts for military personnel and their families and a sliding fee scale in the event that an individual or family is unable to pay.
Due to the ongoing global pandemic the center is offering both tele-health and face-to-face counseling at this time. All in-person counseling sessions adhere to State of Colorado and El Paso County safety protocols.
