Transition to Online Classes and Further Updates

Dear CCU Community:

Out of an abundance of caution and upon the recommendations of the Coronavirus Response Team (CRT), Colorado Christian University is announcing today that the University is transitioning all traditional undergraduate classes in the College of Undergraduate Studies from in-seat to online instruction beginning Friday, March 20, continuing for the duration of the semester.

In order to ensure continuity of teaching, learning, and research, in-seat instruction will continue through the final four days of class (March 16-19) before spring break in order for faculty to make adequate preparations and give final in-person instructions to students.

Faculty should communicate with their students before the first scheduled online class session with further course-specific details. Dr. Ryan Hartwig will follow-up with further instructions and resources for all faculty.

In addition, on-campus residence halls and dining services will close for the remainder of the semester at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21. Traditional undergraduate students should plan to remain at home or return home for the remainder of the semester after spring break. The Residence Life department will communicate further details moving forward.

On-campus accommodations will be provided to those who have no other option, including those from countries with travel restrictions and those with other extenuating circumstances. Dining services will not be available. Students should contact the Residence Life department and request on-campus housing exceptions.

All on-campus events are suspended effective Friday, March 20, until further notice. This includes departments utilizing on-campus facilities, including the College of Adult and Graduate Studies.

Additional information about Commencement, athletics, and other campus events will be forthcoming.

May we be a community that reflects the hope we have through Jesus Christ, for in Him, all things hold together. The safety and health of everyone affiliated with CCU is paramount — which is of course part of the Gospel of Jesus, who brings health and wholeness. Thank you for your continued understanding, prayers, and cooperation, as this situation continues to evolve and change hourly.

You can find the latest details on CCU's Coronavirus Updates website.

Sincerely,

Dr. Donald W. Sweeting
