CCU to Award Record Number of Degrees at Commencement 2020
Colorado Christian University will award a record 720 degrees to its Class of 2020 during a historic virtual Commencement on Friday, May 22. The hour-long Commencement ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. (MDT). It will live stream at www.ccu.edu/commencement. At the conclusion of the event, graduates and family members will be given instructions on how to view graduates' individual memory clips, shareable on social media. A link to a replay of the full ceremony will be made available to the public in the days following the event.
A pre-ceremony program with special messages and music from CCU will live stream beginning at 6:00 p.m. (MDT) on the Commencement website.
The 2020 graduating class includes graduates from all 50 U.S. states and several foreign countries who will receive 484 bachelor's degrees, 166 master's degrees, and 70 associate degrees. CCU President Dr. Donald W. Sweeting will preside over the University-wide virtual ceremony, which will include speeches from honored student speakers, announcements of student awards from all of the University's schools and colleges, a Commencement address by CCU alumnus David Anderson '02, the conferring of degrees to our graduates, and induction of graduates into the CCU Alumni Association. The 700+ graduates will participate in the virtual ceremony live along with faculty, staff, alumni and friends of CCU from all over the world.
The increase in the size of the graduating class corresponds with annual increases in enrollment in both the College of Undergraduate Studies and the College of Adult and Graduate Studies. In 2019, record traditional student enrollment and expanding graduate-level programs pushed Colorado Christian University to its 10th consecutive year of enrollment growth. Total University enrollment reached 8,486 in 2019, the highest total enrollment in the 105-year history of the institution.
