CCU Named a Fastest-Growing University for 8th Consecutive Year
The Chronicle of Higher Education Ranks CCU as 6th Fastest-Growing College or University in Private, Nonprofit, Master's Degree-granting Category
For the eighth consecutive year, Colorado Christian University has been named one of the fastest growing colleges or universities in the private, nonprofit, master's degree-granting category, according to The Chronicle of Higher Education's 2023-24 Almanac of Higher Education. The University ranks as the sixth-fastest-growing institution in its category in the U.S.
“Colorado Christian University is a leader in providing Christ-centered higher education in an increasingly competitive marketplace,” said Eric K. Hogue, president of CCU. “Our eight consecutive years listed as one of the fastest-growing institutions are a testament to the innovative approach we continue to take toward online education and our unwavering commitment to providing higher education rooted in Christian truths and values.”
In the 10 years ending in 2021 — the most recent period for which data is available — CCU experienced a 142.8% enrollment growth rate, bucking national trends of flat or declining enrollment numbers. The tremendous growth has been fueled by the rapid expansion of the University's College of Adult and Graduate Studies (also known as CCU Online), which has fully embraced technological advancements to provide top-tier education online to students around the world.
CCU Online has more than 8,000 students enrolled from all 50 states and internationally. These students are choosing CCU because of the University's unwavering values, the integration of faith and learning in every course that is offered, the flexibility of online learning, and the academic excellence for which CCU is known.
CCU Online offers associate, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees and certificate programs specifically designed to meet the needs of adult learners, consisting of both in-person and online classroom settings. The College of Undergraduate Studies (CUS) offers traditional undergraduate students degree options in business, liberal arts, music, sciences, theology, and pre-professional studies at CCU's main campus in Lakewood, Colorado. In total, the University serves more than 9,000 students between its two colleges. The Almanac ranking is based on data from fall headcounts of full-time and part-time undergraduate and graduate students at private, nonprofit, master's degree-granting institutions with at least 500 students.
