CCU Test-Optional Policy
Colorado Christian University currently has a test-optional policy. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions can evaluate applicants for admission without the use of a test score by reviewing academic merit, written essays, and spiritual recommendations. However, to qualify for a Distinguished Achievement or Trustees' scholarship, an official SAT, ACT, or CLT score is required. Without the submission of a test score, a President's scholarship is the highest-level merit scholarship a student can receive. Other aid, such as federal, state, or other institutional aid, not academically related, will not be impacted if a student chooses not to submit a test score.
NCAA regulations require that potential student-athletes must still take the ACT/SAT at an approved location to become eligible to participate in NCAA sports — CLT scores are not accepted for student-athletes.
Academic Scholarships
First-Time Freshman Scholarships
CCU awards academic scholarships to new, first-time freshmen who meet specific academic requirements. Scholarships are guaranteed a maximum of eight semesters or the completion of an undergraduate degree program, whichever occurs first, as long as the student maintains satisfactory academic progress (SAP) and is continuously enrolled in CCU's College of Undergraduate Studies. Academic scholarships can be applied only to tuition charges for on-campus enrollment. Students must also be enrolled in coursework that satisfies the degree requirements for an eligible program of study.
For new freshmen, including those with AP and/or dual credit, the academic scholarships are based on the student's cumulative GPA from the last high school attended, and may also require a standardized test (ACT, SAT, or CLT). A higher GPA or test score may qualify you for a higher merit scholarship. To estimate your merit scholarship award, please refer to our scholarship calculator.
Submit test scores by August 1st of your enrollment year for scholarship eligibility.
