Join CCU's Pre-Health Club
Pre-Health Club is a resource for CCU students who are interested in a variety of careers within the field of medicine (e.g. medical doctor, physician's assistant, physical therapist, dentist, nurse, etc.). The group coordinates activities that give members opportunities to gain practical experience in the medical field.
One of the club’s main goals is to prepare students for graduate studies. The club establishes a network to assist students in preparing for the MCAT, completing applications to medical and other graduate schools and reviewing graduate school requirements. Additionally, upperclassmen share their experiences in order to help younger students make decisions about what field of study to pursue and also share insight on their time in CCU’s pre-medical program.
Students gather bi-monthly for lunch and discuss information on required coursework, entrance exams (e.g. MCAT), programs of study, job descriptions, and employment options. In addition, professionals from a variety of medical professions are brought in to discuss their studies, experiences, and insights with students.
Among the group’s past activities are a medical mission trip to the Mexico, volunteering for ProjectCURE, and assisting with the annual CCU health fair and blood drive.
